"Michael"

Upon recently learning the news that "Michael" Ch Majenkir My Way ROMX had passed away in September 2009, we, too, were stricken with a deep sadness, especially a sadness for Karen Staudt-Cartabona, our mentor. Our hearts go out to Karen in heartfeflt compassion for the loss of her wonderful "Michael", a borzoi who will always be a gold standard by which future conformation borzoi dogs, stud dogs, and pre-potent sires will be measured.

However, I shall always remember "Michael" as the sweetest borzoi, although there was no question of his enormous dignity. He acted like a pet dog on that day, the first time Bob and I visited her at Majenkir in 2004 and met the dog she had selected for us, our "Mikhailya", Ch Majenkir My Ksar Mikhailovna. She was none other than a "Michael daughter". If we could not take home "Michael" himself, we would not have anything else! I guess that was his way of marketing his brand!
